SP PARFUMS – Lemon Sorbet & Orange

Summer is just around the corner, so it came in handy that Lemon Sorbet & Orange was in the mail today. I just ordered a travel set from Sven Pritzkoleit and some samples came along with my delivery. His brand SP PARFUMS offers a variety of indie scents, which are mostly known for their animalic undertone.

This one, however, is different. Lemon Sorbet & Orange is a fresh, cologne-like fragrance that starts off with a citrusy opening and dries down to a green skin scent. The fragrance reminds me of Chanel Allure Homme Édition Blanche and has the same creamy, lemony vibe. Unfortunately, both scents share their weak performance. After two or three hours on my skin, I could barely notice any of the tasty lemon sorbet. What remains after the four to six hour mark, is a pleasantly green note, which is somewhere along the line of mint.

Don’t get me wrong, I like this type of fragrances, but unfortunately it does not last long enough for its price. This is a common problem with fresh scents, but Édition Blanche, for instance, provides more bang for your buck. Though, I find Chanel fragrances overpriced, but that is a whole different story. Sven Pritzkoleit is a German independent perfumer, who handcrafts all his fragrances in small quantities, so I cannot really blame him for the pricing.

If you are looking for an easy-to-wear fragrance to spritz on in the morning, you may also like Ferrari Bright Neroli or Ferrari Noble Fig. When I am on holiday in Italy or the south of France, these are my go-to fragrances for casual out of the shower situations. Especially on warm spring and summer days, these scents are very uplifting.

Another recommendation, if you like orangey notes, is Bulgari Aqua Amara. While the Ferrari fragrances are bright and fairly unisex, Aqua Amara is rather sour and masculine. But it has beast-mode performance and lasts all day. Furthermore, it has good projection on my skin. Apart from Allure Homme Édition Blanche, however, none of the aferementioned fragrances is as creamy as Lemon Sorbet & Orange.

Sven Pritzkoleit’s creation is totally unisex and can be worn by both, men and women. It is suitable for hot weather, in either dry or humid environments. I see it more as a day-time fragrance for casual wear. It is perfectly fine for the office, the gym or a date. For night-time, though, I would recommend a different fragrance.

Give it a try and buy at least a sample. I like Lemon Sorbet & Orange by SP PARFUMS.
